Funding for School-Based Smoking Cessation Available!

The American Lung Association of Colorado (ALAC) has funding available for high schools to implement the Not On Tobacco (N-O-T) smoking cessation program.  N-O-T is a ten-session, voluntary program to help teens to quit smoking.  It uses a total health approach, incorporating exercise, nutrition, and stress management skills.  N-O-T is a nationally evaluated program and meets the Centers for Disease Control’s Guidelines for School Health Programs.

ALAC will offer free facilitator training to high school personnel as well as funding to cover a facilitator stipend, substitute teacher pay, and student participant incentives.  The application is easy to complete and is available at www.alacolo.org.  If you have any questions, contact Sarah Davis at (303) 388-4327 (1-800-LUNG-USA) or sdavis@alacolo.org.
